We then create a pro forma portfolio of commodities investments and potential commodity trading advisors, which is presented to an investor. Throughout the process, we discuss managers with our clients, both to educate them and to elicit a response, which helps us to develop a portfolio well suited to the client’s specific goals.
As we assist in the selection of commodity trading advisors (CTAs), for both public and private partnerships and for client portfolios, we use a quantitative and qualitative process. During this process a variety of factors are closely evaluated, which allows us to present high net worth investors with fund programs and advisors that range from some of the most recognized names in the emerging managers and managed futures sector.
Upon acceptance of a portfolio, we then guide our clients during their managed account opening process. When managed accounts are opened and trading begins, we monitor manager and account activity daily. We also provide an on-going analysis of the performance of all managers in the client’s portfolio.
We believe it is one thing to be critical when a manager is not performing up to standards, yet we are equally on guard when managers perform far above standard.
