Triton: Specialists In Managed Futures
At Triton Capital Advisors, LLC, we offer a variety of services to qualified high net worth investors who are interested in accessing managed futures programs.
Our Managed Futures Research Includes:
Quantitative Research – Triton Capital Advisors, LLC has a complete set of tools available to quantitatively analyze both mature and emerging commodity trading advisors (CTAs), as data is available going back to the inception of trading for all these advisors.
Equally important in the research process is the knowledge and experience to successfully evaluate both the raw quantitative data and the statistics derived from the quantitative analysis. We carefully analyze and evaluate managers based on measures of return, volatility, leverage, trading frequency, as well as applying a host of other evaluation techniques.
Qualitative Research – While statistical analysis is an important aspect of managed futures research, we understand that qualitative research is just as important to the manager selection process. Our experience and expertise puts us in a unique position to understand manager backgrounds, strategies, abilities, and other relevant strengths and weaknesses relating to alternative investments and commodities trading.
While qualitative research is extremely important for discretionary managers, we believe that it is also a key in the evaluation of systematic managers. To that end, our research affiliate, or ourselves, will visit manager's offices and interview their senior personnel. At Triton, we keep current with all managers, particularly with those whom we recommend to clients.
Portfolio Management – We believe that risk is mitigated when managed futures portfolios are diversified. In summary, this means that we seek a meaningful level of returns, concurrent with commensurate levels of volatility.
We seek managers who have the experience to manage risk, both through diversification among markets and sectors, as well as control mechanisms; and we believe that this is best achieved through the construction of a diversified portfolio.
While we are somewhat inclined to favor systematic traders, we believe that a managed futures portfolio should be diversified among all futures sectors, domestic and foreign futures, and trading methods. Accomplishing these goals requires vast experience and expertise, which produce an understanding of how a diversified managed futures portfolio will perform in both expected and unexpected market conditions.
